Lisa Spiegel and Jean Kunhardt founded Soho Parenting in 1988, but their professional relationship began in 1985 working with families at Bellevue Hospital in New York City. This experience, coupled with their academic studies laid the foundation for their ideas about child development, parenting and psychotherapy. However, it was the shared experience of being new mothers that inspired the creation of their own practice. Over the last three decades, Soho Parenting has grown into a nationally recognized center offering the most current guidance and treatment modalities for the emotional health of the family.
Spiegel and Kunhardt are well known experts in their field and have been featured in a variety of media such as The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Vanity Fair, ABC News, and Parents Magazine. Their unique combination of information, insight, empathy and humor has enriched the lives of many families.
Both Lisa and Jean are proud mothers of young adults.
